Traverse is your own workspace for the work you're responsible for: tasks, projects, a morning briefing, and an inbox where AI turns meetings and threads into tasks you approve. It connects to Plane for your team, and nothing reaches them until you send it.
Download for MacA couple of minutes. Nothing else to install.
Double-click Traverse-arm64.dmg in your Downloads, then drag Traverse onto the Applications folder next to it.
Open Traverse from Applications. macOS says it “can't verify” Traverse and offers only Done or Move to Trash: click Done. Then:
Why: Traverse isn't signed with a paid Apple developer certificate yet, so macOS asks you to confirm once. Updates install from inside the app without this step.
A window opens and a small icon appears in your menu bar. Add tasks and projects by hand. For the AI parts, add a Claude, OpenAI or Gemini key in Settings, or point it at a local model through Ollama. To see your team's work, add your Plane API key there too.
A workspace for one person, built to sit beside the tool your team already uses.
My tasks by day and week, projects with milestones and progress, and a board you can drag across. Everything works with no account and no connection.
Muster shows what moved since you last looked and suggests a plan for the day around your meetings. You accept, reorder or drop each pick.
Paste an email, a Slack thread or notes. AI proposes the tasks with owners and due dates, and you accept, edit or drop each one.
See your team's work in Traverse. Changes go to Plane only when you send them, after a field-by-field preview, and never overwrite a teammate's edit. Nothing is ever deleted there.
Claude Desktop and Claude Code can read your plate and file things in your inbox. Anything meant for Plane waits for your approval.
Your work stays on your Mac. Lockdown stops every cloud call with one switch, paid AI shows its cost first, and your keys are never shown again once saved.
With Trailmix, the action items from your recorded meetings turn up in the inbox, each saying which meeting it came from.
It backs up your data before each update, and one click goes back to the version you had.
Want the details: how it's built, how it talks to Plane, where data lives? It's all on GitHub.
A Mac with Apple silicon (M1 or newer) on macOS 14 or later. The AI features need your own Claude, OpenAI or Gemini key, or a local model through Ollama; everything else works without one.
Your tasks and notes are stored on your Mac, in ~/Library/Application Support/Traverse. Something leaves only when you ask for it: text you have the AI read goes to the provider you chose, and changes you approve go to Plane. Turn on Lockdown and nothing does.
No. Traverse works on its own. Plane is the first connection it supports; others are planned.
Traverse checks for new versions and offers to install them from its menu bar or Settings → Updates. Turn on Beta updates there to get new versions a few days early. If one lets you down, Go back returns to the version you had.
Not as an app. The server also runs in Docker; ARCHITECTURE.md on GitHub says how.
